Fire Department Connections
Sprinkler systems may require additional water pressure during a fire. Fire department connections, also called Siamese connections, are located on the outside wall of the building or near the street. Such a connection allows the fire department to connect its pumper directly into the building’s sprinkler system to increase water pressure and add water to the system. In a larger fire with many sprinklers operating, that would help maintain higher pressure to the activated sprinklers. The fire department connections must be:
