LOCATION

Wind Services

To complement the hurricane data available through LOCATION® Natural Catastrophe Service, ISO also offers five important LOCATION Wind Services:

The Connecticut Insurance Department endorses ISO‘s angle of impact measurement (AIM) methodology.

The Connecticut Insurance Department expects insurers to use the ISO-developed AIM methodology to justify their coastal underwriting practices and submit coastal mappings with their filings. AIM indicates where the highest winds will occur along rivers and where the most damage is likely. LOCATION® Distance to Coast/Major Body of Water Services use AIM to define coastlines and give accurate distances between each risk address and the nearest ocean, gulf, or other major body of water.

LOCATION Distance to Coast/Major Body of Water Service
You get info on the distance between each risk address and the nearest ocean, gulf, or other major body of water. You'll be better able to estimate the risk of surge and damage from windblown water. The service includes the name of the body of water.

LOCATION Windpool Service
You get info to help you determine windpool eligibility for every risk and make sure you're getting the proper windpool zone credits.

ISO Personal Property Territories
LOCATION will accurately determine the ISO rating territory for any homeowners or dwelling risk.

ISO Commercial Property Territories
LOCATION will accurately determine the ISO rating territory for any commercial property risk.

Group II Zones
LOCATION will accurately determine the ISO Group II zone for any commercial property risk.

LOCATION Wind Services come to you as flat-file databases in convenient tab-delimited format. The services are available online or on quarterly CDs.
