weather related loss claims

ISO's sister company Atmospheric and Environmental Research (AER) uses its world-renowned knowledge, experience, and resources to provide Weather Forensic Reports. AER is a premier authority in the field of weather, climate, and environmental data analytics.

Decision Net offers these Weather Forensic Reports:

Hail Verification Report
The report documents and maps hailstorm activity over a 24-hour period within a 10-mile radius of a location. Results may include time of event, hail size estimate, and on-site reporting of hail intensity and potential damage.

Lightning Strike Report
The report features findings from a national lightning-detection network on the time and frequency of lightning strikes over a 24-hour period within a 2-mile radius of a location. Results may include proximity of lightning strikes to the location, lightning strike type (e.g., cloud to ground), polarity (positive or negative) and intensity of lightning, and geographic mapping of lightning activity.

Wind Assessment Report
The report includes storm data and related findings on wind patterns and metrics over a 24-hour period within a 10-mile radius of a location. Results may include severe wind speed readings, on-site observations of wind-related damage, and mapping of neighborhoods affected by adverse wind conditions.

Tornado Assessment Report
The report highlights findings on tornado activity over a 24-hour period within a 10-mile radius of a location. Results may include the proximity of a tornado to the specified location, F-scale rating of a tornado's intensity, eyewitness reporting of damage and injuries, and mapping of a tornado's path.

Weather Consultation Services
AER also offers expert verification and assessment of weather-related events by off-line request. Tailored to the unique needs of clients, AER's consultant teams include in-house meteorological specialists, data processing systems, and information resources, including radar records, archived observations, and statistical modeling. Typical assignments cover a wide range of weather phenomena, such as heavy precipitation, icing conditions, damaging winds, and major storms.

You'll want to consider AER's consultation services in special investigative scenarios, such as the review and resolution of large claims and claim clusters where losses are a result of adverse weather. AER can also provide expert testimony to support claims litigation.

Free updates for 30 days
Once you order a report, it will be available for viewing for up to 30 days. Each time you access your reports in the Status & Results section of the website, the system will provide a fresh report reflecting any new and updated on-site observations and severe weather findings. The revised reports are available at no additional charge — and there is no limit to the number of updates you can secure during the 30-day period.

How to order
You'll find Weather Forensic Reports on the new Public Records – Weather Reports page of Decision Net. You can access that page through a link on the Decision Net home page and a new tab on the Public Records data entry screen.

Simply enter a location of interest, date, and approximate time, and Decision Net will give you immediate access to reports. The system also provides general weather metrics for the calendar date specified, including graphical display of hourly temperature, wind, humidity, and barometric pressure readings.
