Mike Waters, Vice President — Risk Decision Services
Mike Waters is vice president — Risk Decision Services at ISO. He directs and manages ISO’s national field-operations group, including 650 field representatives and 150 support center staff.
The group performs on-site surveys to gather information about individual properties and businesses. Insurers use that information in underwriting property, commercial liability, and workers compensation policies. The group also evaluates municipal fire protection, building code enforcement, and flood mitigation in communities around the country.
Before joining ISO, Mr. Waters worked for the Department of Defense, Naval Ship Engineering Center (NAVSEC) in Washington, D.C.
He holds a master of management — business administration degree from the Pennsylvania State University, a bachelor of science degree from the University of Maryland College of Engineering, and an associate of applied science degree from Monroe Community College in Rochester, N.Y.
Mike is also an active member of the fire service, currently serving as a lieutenant in Jackson Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, Jackson, N.J. He is a past president and fire commissioner of the Jackson Township Fire District 3 Board of Fire Commissioners. He was named his department’s Firefighter of the Year for 2006. He also holds the National Fire Protection Association’s Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) designation.
